Privacy policy

Last updated October 26, 2026

Plain-language summary. We keep only what the course needs: your name, email, progress and purchase. We never sell it, there are no advertising trackers, and you can delete your account at any time.

1. Who we are

[Legal name of the business], operating as Childbirth Academy, [address], Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Contact: [email protected]. We are responsible for the personal information described here.

2. What we collect

  • Your first name and email address, when you create an account or buy a gift.
  • Which lessons you have opened and covered, so the course can bring you back to where you left off.
  • Your purchases: the plan, the amount, the date, and any promo or gift code used. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see them.
  • If you buy a gift: the recipient’s name and email, and your note, so we can deliver it.
  • Technical details needed to keep accounts secure, such as the browser and device you signed in from.

3. Why we use it

To give you the course, keep your place, sign you in, send receipts and account emails, deliver gifts, handle refunds, and keep the site secure. If you ticked the box at sign-up, we also send occasional notes about the course; every one has an unsubscribe link and you can change this any time on your account page.

4. Who helps us

We use a few service providers who handle data on our behalf: Stripe (payments), DigitalOcean in Toronto (hosting), MongoDB Atlas (database, which may store data in the United States), Bunny (video delivery), Resend (sending email), Google (if you choose to sign in with Google) and Cloudflare (email forwarding and cookieless visitor counts). They may only use the data to provide their service to us.

5. Cookies

We use only the cookies the site needs: one to keep you signed in, and those Stripe sets during checkout. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and our visitor counts do not use cookies.

6. How long we keep it

Your account and progress are kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, your name, email, sign-in and progress are removed straight away. Records of purchases are kept, without your name or email, for as long as the law requires.

7. Your choices

You can see and change your details, your email choices and your account on your account page, or delete your account there. To ask for a copy of your information, or with any privacy question, email [email protected]. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page and, for important changes, email members. [Legal review required.]
